Automation Software Engineer
Proteus Biomedical, Inc. is seeking an Automation Software Engineer for our Redwood City, CA facility. Support of automation and process development efforts related to pharmaceutical systems. Focus will be on the improving the manufacturing process of the ingestible event markers as the company scales up its production capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Software development related to advanced manufacturing processes for proprietary sensor systems
Development and characterization of software and algorithms for automated assembly and inspection equipment including the following aspects
Motion control
Machine vision systems and algorithms for visual inspection and vision guided platforms
Database interfacing including data/file transfers, manufacturing equipment communication, MES production data tracking
GUI for production and R&D platforms, including web based programming
PLC and PC control platforms
Calibration and test algorithms
Documentation of software including verification and validation test/reporting, including transfer of validated processes to production
Interface with cross functional teams including mechanical and electrical engineering
Work with outside vendors in the development of test and assembly platforms
Development and transfer of test systems to contract manufacturers
Required skills:
7+ years software development
Experience with high volume manufacturing equipment and test equipment systems
Familiarity with software development lifecycle
Experience with software validation and transfer from R&D to production
Knowledge of programming languages: C/C++, C#, .NET, Visual Basic, Labview, Matlab
Understanding of equipment communication protocols
Highly motivated leadership and excellent communication skills
Knowledge of electrical circuits and components
Desired skills:
MS in Computer Science, or related engineering field with focus on machine and process controls
Experience with SVN
Familiarity with dispensing platforms, web based manufacturing, machine vision platforms, pneumatic controls, servo/stepper motors
Understanding of medical industry software regulations
Education:
B.S. in computer science or related engineering field
